Inside the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, you'll find:
  • THE ROOKIES: Meet the new faces in the SI Swimsuit family: Kim Cloutier, Cintia Dicker, Lucia Dvorska, Esti Ginzburg, Jessica Hart, Damaris Lewis, Ariel Meredith and Hilary Rhoda.
  • OFF WE GO: Brooklyn Decker, Jarah Mariano, Bar Refaeli, Hilary Rhoda, Jessica White bring their distinct vibe to Canouan Island, in the Grenadines, the first stop on the ’09 Swimsuit tour.
  • NAPLES: The Swimsuit odyssey continues to mystical lands where Roman, Mayan and Ottoman cultures once flourished, and to volcanic islands that were stepping stones to the New World. Amid treasures of the past are found pillars of modern beauty with Esti Ginzburg, Daniella Sarahyba and Irina Shayk.
  • CAPPADOCIA: While eyeing a landscape marked by fairy chimneys, underground cities and colorful bazaars, consider the charms of Lucia Dvorska, Julie Henderson, Damaris Lewis and Anne V.
  • BODY PAINTING: Take a guided tour of ancient civilizations that is anthropological, archaeological and topographical. It’s fascinating …really. Artiste extraordaire Joanne Gair explains the history behind her latest masterpieces on Brooklyn Decker, Julie Henderson, Irina Shayk and Jessica White.
  • TENERIFE: On this rocky and rockin’ archipelago off of Africa, bikinied Cintia Dicker, Jessica Gomes and Tori Praver bring the magma to a boil.
  • RIVIERA MAYA: Surrender yourself to the new conquistadoras – Kim Cloutier, Melissa Haro, Jessica Hart and Ariel Meredith - who stormed this lush coastal paradise and, not surprisingly, encountered little resistance.
  • DAN PATRICK BRINGS BROOKLYN IN DA HOUSE: Four-time SI Swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker dishes on modeling, her man and men in Speedos with SI’s own Dan Patrick.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent!   February 18, 2009

This is the first time I have bought the SISS in over 10 years. The last time I purchased it Rebecca Romijn was on the cover. I don't know what made me pick up this issue but I am glad that I did.

I have commented on the SI issues or portfolios of shots done in the mid 90's under the editor ship of Jules Campbell. I had always liked the photography contained therein because I like the dignity and the regality that the models gave off. The 2009 is a throw back to that period.

The pictures are lovely and tasteful. They are enough to make a young man's heart beat with excitement, but yet still nice enough that they would make a mother proud to call any of these ladies their daughters.

The models look both sexy, yet tasteful. Athletic yet very feminine. Alluring yet very powerful. Even though these young ladies are posing in their bathing suits, there's this still powerful aura around them, that screams I am to be respected!

There have been many swim suit issues out. Most of them which I would not touch with a ten foot pole since they all have a taint of sleaze around them. The SI Swim Suit Issue is the only swim suit issue that truly displays women in their true glory and manages to bring out their spirit. It is no wonder that a third of the people who purchase the magazine are themselves women!

This is the best swimsuit issue that sports illustrated came out with. The models are sexy and hotter than ever. It is almost like looking at a "Playboy Wet and Wild issue". I really enjoyed the magazine!

4 out of 5 stars Better   February 14, 2009

I received this in the mail yesterday, and one thing stuck out to me, it is better than the last few. I was tired of all the body paint and such, so I was glad to see that occupied only a small portion of this issue. The models look great, of course, and I think my favorite part was the tennis pros that modeled. They looked great, and it was interesting to see them in a different light. Overall, a good issue, and as I said, much better than the last few issues.

3 out of 5 stars Swimsuit Mania   March 18, 2009

This issue of Sports Illustrated, Swimsuit 2009, was not as good as previous ones. I love Bar Refaeli. She is my new favorite Super Model. I have her on my cell phone, but not on speed dial, if you know what I mean. There are more foreign models than ever before. I would rather see more American Women on foreign beaches. Some of them I would not consider a perfect 10, which should be a requirement for this issue of this magazine. More Americans, More Tens!!!
