Product Description With Mountain House products on hand and a one-burner stove or candle to heat water (cold water can be used in a pinch), you can still enjoy a hot, satisfying meal in less than 10 minutes. #10 Cans have the longest shelf life available...up to 25 years! Each can is coated with a protective enamel inside and out for double protection, including the lid. The cans contents are protected until you are ready to open and use them. After opening, it is recommended that you use the contents with 2 to 3 weeks for best results and taste; using the convenient resealable plastic lid between uses. Treat any leftover food as you would fresh food. Mountain House freeze-dried foods are packed in airtight NITROGEN PACKED #10 cans or pouches. Up to 98% of the residual oxygen has been removed. Mountain House's unique canning process uses both vacuum oxygen removal and nitrogen flushing.

Just Like Corn On The Cob! April 3, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This Stuff is Great! It tastes just like fresh off the cob! Great Texture, easy to prepare, and stores for 35 years! As of today, there is alot of talk about possible food shortages, there are already food riots all over the world, and our farmers are selling corn to make fuel, not to put on your table... If you found your way here, and are wondering if you should perhaps "stock up" the ANSWER IS YES! So buy some mountain house, its the best out there, and lasts for 35 years or longer! You will eventually use it, in the next 35 years.

Certainly Good Food for Uncertain Times April 3, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have eaten Mountain House, and I store some of it for "just incase". Just Incase I get laid off and still want to eat, Just Incase The Family gets snowed in or any other natural disaster, and still wants to eat. Or even, just incase the fish aren't biting when we go camping. Its very simple to prepare, just add hot water and wait! Tastes great! Really IT DOES! The Beef Strogganoff is my favorite, the freeze dried fruits and vegitables will surprize the heck out of you, by how fresh they taste. The stuff really does keep for about 35 years, trust me you'll be eating it long before that!

This Mountain House product is one of their best. I have breakfasted on these eggs for up to 10 days at a time without tiring of them. Excellent texture and taste.
Mountain house is a favorite of ours. September 15, 2008 We've purchased these products to add to our emergency food supply. They are the best fit for us since they are lightweight and have about a 30 year shelf life, so there's no real worries about rotating our 'stock' to use up expiring items. We figured, in our senior years, if they haven't been used, we'll have easy meals to keep us going in our RV! (we hope we get there!)
