Amazon.com Product Description The date is 1974. The place is Budapest, Hungary. Erno Rubik, an admirer of geometry and 3-D forms creates the world's most perfect -- and addictive -- puzzle. More than three decades later the Rubik's cube is still one of the best selling brainteasers. Whether it was full size or the smaller keychain version almost every child had this puzzle by in 1980 when it found worldwide success. Elementary school kids were seen solving it with their feet on "That's Incredible!", conspiracy theorists believed it was an Eastern bloc tactic to distract American youth from getting an education, and Cubaholics Anonymous was formally established to help cure the compulsive need to solve it. | | Each side is just over 2", while each sticker is about " square. | For all of the hullabaloo, the Rubik's Cube actually has a pretty straightforward premise. The faces of the cube are covered by nine stickers in six solid colors (one for each 2.25" side); when the puzzle is solved, each face is one solid color. Then you realize as you turn the rows and columns and see all the colors flash by that there are 43 quintillion possible pattern combinations (that's 43 million millions), but just one right one. Maybe Cubaholics Anonymous wasn't such a bad idea after all
. This Rubik's Cube has reflective red, white, blue, yellow, green, and orange colored stickers with an official twenty-fifth anniversary sticker in the center white square. The cube is packaged in a clear hexagon box and includes a black display stand. There is also a solutions hint and game suggestion book, just in case.

My Thoughts About Rubik's Cube June 2, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was a gift to my son (who is now 41 years old) but when he was in his pre-teens I bought him his first Rubik's Cube and he would spend hours playing with it. So after his kidney transplant I decided to purchase another one for him and he has really enjoyed playing with it plus enjoying old memories. Thank you.
Great toy to have laying around May 20, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I must admit, i was a little skeptical about this cube after reading that the stickers would come off easily, but i decided to give it a try. I've had the cube for about 6 months now, and not one sticker has even began to peel off. I think the other people reviewing this cube as bad had some kids that liked stickers or something. Either that or the parents got frustrated and peeled them off themselves.
A Classic Memory June 3, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had a few over the years and understand the difference between good quality and poor quality units.
This one is top quality, turns nicely, is solid and have had no issues what so ever. It feels just like the original to me.
Cool Rubiks May 12, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Very interesting toy , I've spent hours playing with it trying to solve it 1st then trying to break my records :-) it's very smooth to turn even when new (which is a good thing) but the stickers start to peel very soon , so I had to buy new stickers or try to paint them.
Expand your horizon June 27, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The cube is for my 12 year old son but once we got on the net to search hints for solution, we've expanded our horizon. All the video clips and the robots etc. has created a lot of interesting conversation between father and son.
